Lip Tint

I am convinced that tinted lip balms are one of the all-time best beauty inventions. I rarely leave the house without a swipe of lipstick but sometimes the harsh weather elements I face at the barn call for something more moisturizing than lipstick. That's where tinted lip balms come in and provide color (albeit relatively sheer) and the moisture dry lips crave. My old standby has always been Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, but I am always willing to branch out and try new ones.

I have recently added two new tinted lip balms into my rotation and they are both amazing! The first is relatively expensive ($8) and came home from Target on a recent grocery shopping trip. Pixi's Shea Butter Lip Balm is packed with shea butter and vitamin e and comes in 6 summer worthy colors. It goes on smooth, providing a decent wash of juicy color that has real staying power (for a lip balm). My lips feel softer every time I wear it. My favorite shade is the Coral Crush, a bright summer-ready coral. Available at Pixi Beauty and Target.

My second new lip balm comes from Benefit which decided to follow up their wildly popular BeneTint lip and cheek stains with a tinted lip balm in each of the colors of the stain. It can be worn with the stain or on it's own. This tinted lip balm comes in 4 colors and hydrates with mango butter and sodium hyaluronate. It goes on rich and creamy providing a very sheer wash of color that leaves lips soft, plumped and glossy. Available at Benefit.

The BeneBalm is my favorite color and Benefit's web site provides a picture of what each shade looks like on various skin colors.
